102 A. U. Л К Б Е Д Е В The next, p robab ly younger metamorphie complex is re p re sented by garnet-amphibole and garnet-pyroxene gneisses, eclo- gites, amphibolites and labradorites. This group of rocks, while mostly preserving an externally gneissose hab it, probab ly p re sents a product of a lte ra tion of n eu tra l and basic igneous rocks of the diorite and gabbro type. The less strongly metamorphozed member of t h a t group is represented by white labradorite of massive tex tu re , which has been met w ith on the northern shore of Lake Bolshoie Glubokoie. The rocks of th a t complex, too. are folded, yet less in tensely th an the gneisses of the preceding group. The main direction of the axes of folds is also a latitud ina l. To th e th ird , or th e youngest group of rocks belong granites traversing the ancient gneisses along th e coasts and in t h e islands of th e Kandalaksha Gulf, vein aplites and pegmatites connected w ith these granites, as well as po rphyrite dikes. The tectonics of t h e region is depending on t h e above m e n tio n ed folding process (resolvable i nt o a t least 2 phases of folding) on th e one hand , and on disjunctive dislocations, on t h e other. The latter seem to h av e played the largest p a rt in the formation of the modern relief. Of the m ineral products confined to the coun try rocks, on the territo ry explored there have been revealed: pegmatites, mica and garnet. All the occurrences are of insignificant size and appear to be of no practical importance.
