One of the city’s attractions is the only Russia’s monument to the famous mineralogist, geochemist and academician A. E. Fersman who did so much for our region. Next to the m onu ­ ment enthusiasts laid the Geology Park where samples of the major ores and m inerals from the Kola Peninsula deposits are exhibited. The subject of mineralogy and studies of the North are followed up by the Museum of Geology, Museum of History of Studies and Development of the European North of Russia, tourist routes in the Khibiny Mountains, the unique guided tour “Polar Lights Hunt". The guests of the city w ill not remain indifferent to the m em o ria l sign to the northerners perished during the Great Patriotic War, the monument to the first builders of Apatity, and the recently erected monumen t to A.S. Pushkin by Zurab Tsereteli given to the city as a gift by the author. В городе располагается апатито-нефелиновая обогатительная фабри­ ка (АНОФ-2) и другие технологически связан­ ные с АО «Апатит» предприятия. Одной из достопримечательностей горо­ да является единственный в России памят­ ник знаменитому минералогу, геохимику, ака ­ демику А. Е. Ферсману, так много сделавшему для нашего края. Рядом с памятником сила­ ми энтузиастов создан Геологический парк, где представлены образцы основных руд и минералов месторождений Кольского по­ луострова.
