Since the d is c o v e ry o f K an o ze ro p e tro g ly p h s in 1997, th is con cep t has ceased to be asso cia te d only w ith the Belom o rsk p e tro g ly p h s d isc o ve red in 1924 at the mouth o f the Vyg River (near Belom orsk, the Republic o f Karelia). The a rtic le s u b s ta n tia te s the be longing o f bo th com plexes o f p e tro ­ glyphs, at a certain tim e in te rval, to one tra d itio n o f rock art and an ancient tra d itio n o f marine nature use. When fo rm in g a nom ination fo r the UNESCO W o rld H e ritag e L ist «P e trog lyph s o f the Onega Lake and the W h ite Sea», which is cu rre n tly being prepa red, it is im p o rta n t con sid e rin g the com pliance o f the «W h ite Sea» style o f the K an oze ro p e tro g lyp h s, to expect the p o s s ib ility o f th e ir inclusion in th is nom ination , if all the necessary do cum ents w ill be p ro vid e d by Murmansk region au­ th o ritie s .
