острове Каменный, когда выпасал там овец. Бывшие жители поселка Подмуна, братья Владимир и Евгений Веревкины (ныне проживающие в городе Апатиты) сообщили, что видели петроглифы на островах Ка­ нозера, а также на камне в районе Карельского по­ рога реки Муна. Камень с предполагаемыми выбивка­ ми был обследован в ходе нашей экспедиции в июне 2016 года, но петроглифов на нем выявлено не было. Местные жители также оставили граффити на ска­ лах. Так, на острове Кирвинский (пока там не найде­ но петроглифов) были зафиксированы граффити, в том числе на церковнославянском алфавите (Илл. 15-16). По утверждению местного жителя из дерев­ ни Канозеро —рыбинспектора по фамилии Лихтовар, эти надписи были сделаны «попом из Умбы» в 1950-х годах4. Исследователи на Канозере Первые карты, на которых показано относительно точ­ ное местоположение Канозера были созданы участ­ никами финской экспедиции 1887 г. (Rikkinen 1980). К Канозеру поднимаются Эдгрен и Левандер (см. кар­ ту из Fennia III (6), 1890), а также его, по-видимому, посещает геолог Вильгельм Рамзай, который «спу­ скался в карбасе по всему течению р. Умбы и, как го­ ворят, произвел даже глазомерную съемку этой реки, однако карта эта до сих пор нигде не опубликована» (Визе 1912 (12): 555). 14 августа 1910 года шведский этнограф и архе­ олог Густав Хальстрем пересек Канозеро во время своего сплава по реке Умба (Илл. 17-18). Он не обра­ тил внимания на скалистые острова, хотя, известно, что одной из целей его поездки был поиск наскально­ го искусства (Лихачев 2011). По сообщению Шутова Валерия Кузьмича, который услышал об этом лично от Лихтовара в 1970-х годах. Thus, according to (Крутяков, Солод 1963: Photo 26 and 27), the metapyroxenites compose the rocks o f the Elovy Island (Fig. 35), and the metaperidotites compose the rocks o f the Kamenniy Island (Figs. 33-34). According to another re­ port, in addition to the relict sites o f metapyroxenite and metaperidotite rocks, «serpentine-chlorite, talc-chlorite, carbonate-chlorite, tremolite-serpentine, chlorite-tremolite and actinolite-tremolite rocks» are involved in the compos­ ing o f the rocks o f the islands (Иванова и др. 1964: 218- 219, 228) (Fig. 36). Thus, we can conclude that the rocky outcrops with panels o f petroglyphs on different islands are composed o f rocks with different physical, mechani­ cal and chemical properties. Those properties o f rocks for each petroglyphic panel must be considered in preserva­ tion o f petroglyphs. Also geological maps and descriptions from reports make it possible to determine the other rocky outcrops around the Kanozero Lake area. These outcrops are systematically surveyed for petroglyphs by employees o f the Kanozero petroglyphs museum, but so far without results. Tourism and the tourist graffiti on the Kanozero rocks Since 1930s the tourist route on the river Umba was in­ cluded in guide books (Бартольд 1935) and tourist travel reports were published in local newspapers (Попов 1935). The «Proletarian» tourism o f 1930s suggest that tourist should help the Soviets with the investigation o f natural resources: deposits o f useful minerals and rocks, forest for logging etc. Even the task o f revealing archaeological sites was proposed for local proletarian tourist activists. Since 1950-s the interest to the Umba River as a touristic route for kayaking is growing year by year. The report for tour­ istic travel has become an obligatory part for such a trip if their participants wanted to get a sport category or to become a professional tourist guides.
