Для них характерен фокус на других видах деятель­ ности врамках охоты, например, подготовка к буксировке (Илл. 10) и/или символический характер петроглифов. В этой статье я сконцентрируюсь на анализе китобойных сцен, чтобы углубить понимание методов эксплуатации морских ресурсов в течение тысячелетий, независимо от исторических и этнографических данных. В наскальной живописи сцены охоты изображают ис­ пользование гарпунов и поплавков, охоту с одной или не­ скольких лодок, но, как я упоминала ранее, методы, ис­ пользованные в 19 веке и раньше, подобные описанным Максимовым (2014), не были найдены в наскальной живо­ писи (Илл. 5). Это может указывать на охоту в разных ме­ стах и/или на мелководье и/или на выбор изображать только определенный тип морской охоты. Рисунки, одна­ ко, указывают на методы, используемые доисторически­ ми сообществами рыболовов, собирателей и охотников, и похоже, что они связаны с охотой в открытом и/или глу­ боководном море. Самая ранняя из известных сцен охоты на китов из ско­ пления Бесовы Следки, возможно, вообще самая ран­ няя из когда-либо известных, поскольку это изображе­ ние датируется как сделанное более 5500 тысяч лет на­ зад (Janik 2010). Это основано на методе датировки по С14 (Devyatoval 976, Janik 2010, Sawateev, et al 1978).Ме­ тод используется при датировании наскальных рисунков вСкандинавии (например, Gjerde 2010, Hafsten 1983, Ling 2005, Seitsonen 2005, Sogness 2003, Svendsen et al 2004). Петроглифы из Канозеро датированы увязкой с археоло­ гическим материалом и отметками уровня воды за пери­ од, начавшийся около 6000 лет назад. Rock art The whaling scenes carved into the rock at the White Sea and Kanozero locations often combine the scenes of terrestrial and marine hunt in one composition (Fig. 7, 11), and often focus on other activities within the hunt, e.g. preparation for towing (Fig. 10) or/and symbolic nature of carvings. In this paper I will concentrate on whaling as a part of the contribution to the understanding of techniques of deep sea exploitation through­ out the millennia independent from the historical and ethno­ graphic records. In the rock art the hunting scenes depict the use of har­ poons and floats, hunting from one or a number o f boats, bul as I have mentioned before, the techniques used in 19th centu­ ry and earlier as described by Maksimov (2014) have not been found in the rock art (Fig. 5). This might indicate hunting ii different locations and/or sea versus shallow waters or/and tht choice to depict only a particular type of marine hunting. The carvings, however, indicate the techniques used by prehistoric fisher-gatherer-hunter communities and it looks as if it is re­ lated to open and/or deep sea hunting.
