Dvoretsky WINTER FEATURES OF ZOOPLANKTON DISTRIBUTION IN THE PECHORA SEA Zooplankton community of the P echo ra S e a w a s analyzed b a sed on the d a ta obtained in the beginning of the 2010 winter period. In all, 29 taxa were found in the samp le s. Their total a bund an c e varied form 931 to 4360 ind/m3, averaging 1810±354 ind/m3. Biomass varied in the range 25-401 mg of wet m a s s /m 3 with the av e rag e of 94±41 mg/m3. Cop epod s dom inated zooplankton community in terms of the total ab u n d an c e with Pseudocalanus spp., Oithona similis, Temora longicornis and Acartia longiremis being the most numerous. A tendency of increase in the sh a re of typical marine sp e c ie s from the southern part of the investigated a re a to the northern part w as revealed. Zooplankton a b u n d an c e and b iomass were directly depending on the av e ra g e water temperature, salinity and depth of sampling while the opposite relation w a s found with sampling time. Stations were highly similar in taxa and essentially different in terms of ab u n d an c e and biomass. Keywords: zooplankton, communities structure, Barents Sea. Author Vladimir G.
