Keywords: liverworts (Marchantiophyta), Cephaloziineae, Jungermaniineae, molecular phylogenetics, molecular systematics, taxonomy. M.O. Inozemtseva, V.K. Zhirov MORPHOLOGICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL VARIABILITY OF BIRCHES STRESSED BY INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION Winter dormancy of birch hybrids (Betula pendula x Betula pubescense) stressed by pollution of Montchegorsk sm elter (Murmansk reg.) was studied according to dynamic of autumn leaf sene scence. Data obtained allow to conclude that typical positive dependence between leaves yellowing and dormancy depth realizes by tree s of average physiological age. This connection can be destroyed up to transforming to negative one under increasing level of pollution, and for juvenile shoots. Results of the study is under discussion from the two adaptive strategies point of view. Keywords: birch winter dormancy, frost resistance, autumn leaf senescence, industrial pollution, physiological age. L.A. Kazakov, G.V. Vishnyakov, V.A. Chamin FOREST MELIORATION OF KUZOMEN SANDS In this essay the main results of the research of the afforestation of moving Kuzomenskiy sand s on the Tersky coast of the White S ea are given. Keywords: erosion, forest culture, survival rate, safety, growth, damage. N.A. Konstantinova, O.A.Belkina, E.A. Borovichev, D.A. Davydov, VA.Kostina, A.Y. Likhachev, A.V. Melekhin, S.S. Shalygin DIVERSITY OF PLANTS, LICHENS AND CYANOPROKARYOTA IN SPECIALLY PROTECTED AREAS OF MURMANSK REGION The results of study of diversity of plants, lichens and cyanoprokaryotes in specially protected areas (SPA) of Murmansk Province are presented. Compiled list of species collected in SPA includes 129 species of cyanoprokaryotes, 879 species of lichens, 192 species of liverworts, 417 species of mosses, 952 species of vascular plants. It is shown that majority of species of bryophytes (95.5% hepatics and 87.9% of m osses known in Murmansk Province) were registered in SPA whereas the rate of lichens (76.4%) and vascular plants (70.7%) found in SPA is lower. Only 42.8% of cyanoprokaryotes registered in Murmansk Province were collected in SPA at present. It reflects specific of studied groups. Keywords: cyanoprokaryotes, lichens, liverworts, mosses, vascular plants, biodiversity, protected territories, Murmansk Province. V.N. Pereverzev SOIL FORMATION IN A FOREST ZONE OF KOLA PENINSULA In article the basic types soil formation on different rocks of Kola peninsula are presented and genetic classification of soils is given. Keywords: soil formation, types of soils, classification. N.J. Shmakova, O.V. Ermolaeva, L.M. Lukyanova THE HISTORY OF RESEARCH PHOTOSYNTHETIC ACTIVITY OF PLANTS IN KHIBINI MOUNTAINS The history of the investigation in photosynthetic activity (photosynthesis, respiration, content of plastid pigments) in the leaves of plants in the Kola north over the long period (near 80 years) from 1925 to 2010. Keywords: history of science, plant physiology, photosynthesis, Hibiny. S.A. Saltykova ACCUMULATION OF HEAVY METALS IN FISHES OF LADOGA LAKE AND THEIR PARASITES Heavy metals accumulation in fishes of Ladoga lake and their parasites was studied. Characteristics of heavy metals exchange between fishes and parasites can be used foe biological evaluation of pollution level and ecological state of a reservoir. Keywords: heavy metal pollution, fishes, fish parasites, Ladoga lake, methods of biological testing. 107
