On March 17 Prof. R. Kipfer (Technological University, Zurich, Switzerland) visited the Geological Institute KSC RAS and delivered a lection «Hydrogeological research with the use o f tracers tritium-helium-3 isotope system». On March 23-25 Director o f the Institute Prof. Yu.L. Voytekhovsky partook in the International Workshop on FENGOT and FODD programs. On March 30 the Geological Institute KSC RAS and Kola Branch of Russian Mineralogical Society made a presentation on their activity in the Murmansk Regional Library. On April 1 the Geological Institute KSC RAS reported on perspectives o f exploring PGE ores of the Fedorovy tundras on the Mining- Geological Collegium. On April 2 Prof. K.V. Kullerud (University o f Tromso, Norway) delivered a lecture «WebGeology. Lectures in geology on the web as a useful supplement to lectures and textbooks» in the Institute seminar. On April 4 the Geological Institute KSC RAS researchers and their numerous friends celebrated the Geologist's Day. Next day, the Institute hosted the Round Table on cross-border cooperation. Russian and foreign geologists presented 15 reports. On April 8-10 Apatity was a venue for V International Conference «North and Arctic in a new paradigm o f the world development, Luzin Readings 2010», where Prof. Yu.L. Voytekhovsky and D.V. Zhirov presented 2 reports. OnApril 20 the Geological Institute KSC RAS hosted the seminar dedicated to Dr.Sci. (Geol.-mineral.) V.V. Balagansky's jubilee. OnApril 22-23 the Regional Conference dedicated to the 75thanniversary o f Museum of Local History in Kirovsk was carried out. The Geological Institute KSC RAS and Kola Branch of the Russian Mineralogical Society partook in this with 6 reports. On April 28 employees of the Institute visited the workshop on ENPI project of the Kolarctic program carried out by the Lapland Reserve in Monchegorsk. Three reports were presented by P. Itkonen, P. Johansson, Prof. Yu.L. Voytekhovsky. On May 2 the Geological Institute KSC RAS saw thefirst night of exhibition o f the Monchegorsk photographer S. Mamakina. On May 3-4 the Institute hosted VII All-Russian Fersman Scientific Session dedicated to the 80thanniversary o f the Kola Science Centre. Its constant participant Cand.Sci. (Geol.-mineral.) E.B. Khalezova granted the Institute with Acad. A.E. Fersman's personal typing machine «Continental». OnMay 21-23 the Institute displayed the exposition «Geotourism on the Kola Peninsula: new possibilities for the North inhabitants» on XII exhibition «Kola Partnership» in Murmansk and was granted with Diploma as an active participant. On May 25 the Geological Institute KSC RAS carried out a seminar dedicated to the 40th anniversary o f the SD-3 launch. On June 8-10 researchers of the Institute took part in the International Trade-Fair «Euro Mine Expo 2010» (Sweden), on June 14-17 they participated in the All- Russian Mineralogical Workshop «Geomaterialsfor hitech, diamonds, precious metals and stones of the Timan-North Urals region» with 2 reports. On June 21-22 the Geological Institute venued the All-Russian (with International Participation) Conference «Unique geological objects of the Kola region: Khibiny». Thefirst day was dedicated to reports. Next day, an excursion to the Khibiny was carried out. It started from the «Tietta» memorial and proceeded with a route to the molybdenite pit o f the 1930's. Окончание первого и второй квартал года были насыщены различными мероприятиями. 17 марта состоялся визит почётного профес­ сора Технологического института г. Цюрих, Швей­ цария, Рольфа Кипфера в Геологический институт КНЦ РАН. По инициативе д.х.н. И.Н. Толстихина гость выступил перед сотрудниками Института с лекцией «Гидрогеологические исследования с ис­ пользованием трассеров: тритий-гелий-3 изотоп­ ная система». В течение последних пяти лет наш Институт проводит исследования изотопа 3He как нано-трассера для изучения несовершенных кри- сталлов и изотопа 39Ar в рамках проектов «Ми­ грация гелия в кристаллы кварца» с Бернским университетом, Швейцария, (2005-2008 гг.) и «Из­ мерение потоков быстрых нейтронов с использо­ ванием радиоактивного изотопа 39Ar» с Институ­ том радиационной защиты г. Мюнхен, Германия (2008-2010 гг.). 23-25 марта в г. Эспоо, Финляндия, состоя­ лось международное рабочее совещание по про­ граммам FENGOT (Fennoscandian Gold Transsect) и FODD (Fennoscandian Ore Deposit Database and Metallogenic Map). С российской стороны в сове­ щании приняли участие директора ГИ КНЦ РАН
