In this issue of the magazine you will see exclusive photographs she kindly submitted with the comments to follow. «In August 1947, when I was a student, I came on my practice to the Khibiny, where my mother (Acad. A.E. Fersman’s student and associate, an outstanding mineralogist I.D. Borneman-Starynkevich - Author’s note) was on a mission. She took here two my adolescent sisters, whom she couldn’t leave in Moscow for all summer. Together with the children my mother lived in the Botanic Garden and she walked every day on her work to the 25th km, where the Kola Centre of the USSR Academy of Sciences was located. I got a job of a collector for Pavel Konstantinovich Semenov, a scientific worker of the Centre. He studied mineralogy of alkaline pegmatites, and this was just what I needed. On the photographs, which are actually takenby him, there is laboratory assistant Nikolay beside me. Unfortunately, my memory fails to recall his surname.
