Рис.3. Схема обустройства выделенных структур Байдарацкой губы Pic. 3. Scheme of arrangement of selected Baydaratskaya Bay structures achieved with orienting to complex reserves development of this region when the most perspective and largest objects take upon themselves main part of costs to create transport infrastructure, both sea and coastal. It should be noticed that researches have studied only sedimentary cover at this shelf. That is why the further prospect is connected with examination of deep-seated masses. Estimated oil reserves in 3600-5000 meters in such complexes as Middle Devonian, Lower Frasnian, Upper and Lower Silurian compose more than 60% from total sum. Detected oil deposit in Upper Silurian at Medynskoe-sea field gives hope that petroleum deposits of industrial use could be found in the Pechora Bay. Transportation oil system and technical characteristics of searching and geological exploration in shallow waters minding ice conditions influence the fact whether the development of this region will be successful or not. Baydaratskaya Bay is considered to be one of the biggest in the Kara Sea. It is located in south-western part of the sea, its length is 180 km, width is 78 km (Ust-Kara line, Marre-Sale Cape), and depth is 25 m. Annual average air temperature is 9-10 0 C above zero. Geographical position of Baydaratskaya Bay and sea shallow depths create the favorable conditions for ice which covers water 8-10 months a year (October-June). Ice conditions here are characterized by fast ice and drift ice in the center of the bay. Width of fast ice is within the range of 4-6 km near Ural shore and 5-10 km near Yamal shore. Semi-daily tides cause reverse motion of drift ice along shore (semi-range is 0,5-1,0 m). This leads to formation of many icepacks which are frozen into ice. Penetration of keels into ice forms tracks in the ground. The most possible width of tracks have been 50 m, average size is 10 m, depth is 1,5-2 m. (picture 3) There is small possibility for icebergs and their blocks to appear in Baydaratskaya Bay. Storms in the open part of the Kara Sea are able to raise wave there and to break ice in its northern and central parts. Border of sustainable ice position annually changes. This particular bay has got rather specific weather conditions: its depth is not big, storms are often, sediments are complicated, and sea bottom freezes in winter. Such severe conditions give an opportunity to work only during several months a year. Coast of Baydaratskaya Bay belongs to northern geocryological zone of almost solid permafrost formation, annual average temperature of which is 8-10 0 C below zero. Permafrost thickness is 150-250 m.
