One is our outstanding business reputation in domestic and international engineering and construction markets. Our work complies with international standards, and we have experience working under all possible geographic and climatic conditions. Our builders work at temperatures ranging from – 50 C º in the Far North to + 50 C º in Saudi Arabia. Stroytransgaz is one of a very few Russian companies with experience as an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractor in large projects. - Will the worldwide financial crisis impact your portfolio of orders? - Our work is the best answer to this question. Stroytransgaz, together with its strategic financial partner, Gazprombank, continues to expand its activities in the oil and gas industry and in theenergy sector, including construction of nuclear power stations. This expansion is occurring at home and in international markets. In 2008 Stroytransgaz launched a number of new projects. In October we signed a contract with SIBUR for preparatory work that will lead to extending gas processing capacity in the Noyabrsk region of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Stroytransgaz was awarded a contract for construction of its sixth section of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline. This one is near Olekminsk in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). We began construction of the Skovorodino oil treatment unit in May 2008. These two projects will be finished in the fourth quarter of 2009. Stroytransgaz received the contract to build a 22-kilometer section of the Vankor- Purpe oil pipeline, bringing Stroytransgaz’s work on that oil pipeline to 184 kilometers. In August Stroytransgaz started construction of an ethylene and polyethylene plant in Novy Urengoy in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Nuclear power plants take a special place among our projects. The company is constructing the № 4 energy block at the Kalinin nuclear power plant and the № 2, 3 and 4 energy blocks at the Rostov nuclear power plant. In the near future, there will be projects at the Leningrad and Bashkiria nuclear power plants. Stroytransgaz has begun building off- shore drilling rigs, and the company is entering the road construction market. While all this is going on at home, we are simultaneously expanding activities abroad. We signed our first contract for construction of the Taweelah-Fujairah gas pipeline in July 2008 in Abu-Dhabi. We are very pleased that implementation of the United Arab Emirates’ first large- scale energy project was entrusted to Stroytransgaz. In September our company began capital repairs on the 27-kilometer Pajari-Valkeala gas pipeline in Finland. WemarkedOctober with the signing ofanew EPC contract with the Syrian Gas Company. It coversconstructionofa62-kilometerextension of the Arab Gas Pipeline, Phase 2. Stroytransgaz has excellent prospects for cooperation with Latin American countries as well. Vyacheslav Makhonin, chairman of the Management Board, visited countries in the region as a member of the delegation accompanying President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. With his visit to India, Mr. Makhonin opened new possibilities in that country as well. - What role do you expect to play in the Shtokman project? - Development of the huge Shtokman field in theBarentsSeacannotbeundertakenwithout the participation of large, capable Russian contractors, nor without the application of modern equipment that meets the highest technical and environmental standards. As I mentioned earlier, Stroytransgaz has broad experience implementing large projects in industrial engineering, construction of offshore facilities, pipelines of various diameters and energy blocks. We plan to take part in tenders for selection of contractors for a number of facilities, depending on proposal conditions and the company’s engagement in other projects. We think that some objects will require a strategy of partnership with foreign companies, as Western experience realizing similar projects will be irreplaceable. This concerns objects for the offshore portion and some onshore construction within the Shtokman project. - What are your company’s plans for development in the Murmansk region? - The Shtokman gas condensate field development project is of strategic importance for our country. This field will be a resource base for shipment of Russian gas via pipeline and as LNG. In a number of years, Murmansk will become an oil and gas center, like Novy Urengoy. Therefore, the entire Murmansk region is extremely promising for development of industrial engineering, construction of new hydrocarbon fields, mining, energy and infrastructure. As a diversified company, Stroytransgaz is interested in projects in all the spheres mentioned above. The company plans to be present in the region with its personnel, machinery, design offices and production bases. - What do you expect from cooperation with Murmanshelf? - As a member of this suppliers’ association, we benefit from very good informational support. Stroytransgaz regularly participates in its conferences and roundtable discussions, where we carry out fruitful meetings with our Russian and foreign partners. When the Shtokman field and other large projects in the Murmansk region enter an active phase, we will look to the association for assistance in recruiting personnel, establishing contacts with suppliers of equipment and materials and locating sites for machinery and production facilities.
