WISHING YOU CREATIVE SOLUTIONS AND AMAZING DISCOVERIES! Dear Colleagues, Friends and Partners! This issue of regional business magazine MURMANSK MILE focuses on the activity of one of the leading Russian companies in marine geology - JSC Marine Arctic Geological Expedition (MAGE). First we should mention that over the past five years the Company has sufficiently expanded its functional abilities in geological surveying. Whereas a few years ago the Company generally performed 2D seismic surveys, gravity and magnetic measurements, at present we specialize in seismic surveying onshore and in transition zone, we perform engineering surveys, operations involving remotely operated vehicles (ROV) as well as a large work scope under the State Import Substitution Programme. Besides this, recently we have launched 3D seismic surveying. First 3D seismic was performed in the Sea of Okhotsk. The survey was successfully completed. Thus the Company has entered this market and we are ready to bid for such contracts in future. Last November JSC MAGE celebrated its 45thAnniversary. Over these years the Company has come a long way - millions of sea miles put into millions of square kilometers of water areas, covered by geological mapping, into hundred thousands of seismic lines, gravity and hydromagnetic surveys. Today it is no exaggeration to say that surveys performed by MAGE made a crucial contribution to a new more significant assessment of the Russian Arctic Shelf potential resources. This issue focuses on the technologies applied by MAGE and the most interesting geological explorations, recently performed by the Company experts. The magazine is intended for the general reader, the participants of specialized exhibitions, conferences and other platforms where the effective techniques of geological and geophysical exploration as well as engineering surveying are collectively discussed. I believe it will become helpful from the view point of experience sharing because taking part in such activities means not only the showcase of advanced technologies and the latest developments of the industry but also the discussion of relevant issues and the search for unusual approaches.
