На федеральном уровне законо­ дателем дано лишь определение этнологической экспертизы, по­ рядок проведения нормативно не определён. Анализ показал, что в российском законодательстве требуется не только нормативное закрепление процедуры прове­ дения этнологической эксперти­ зы, обязательности её проведе­ ния, но и уточнение понятийного аппарата, предмета и объекта на­ учного исследования. Помимо вышеуказанного, ис­ следование выявило объектив­ ную необходимость в дальнейшем развитии института неправитель­ ственной этнологической экспер­ тизы. Такая экспертиза может про­ водиться с целью оценки влияния намечаемых и реализуемых про­ ектов промышленной хозяйствен­ ной деятельности, а также связан­ ных с этим аварийных ситуаций на жизнедеятельность коренных малочисленных народов, их тра­ диционный образ жизни и соот­ ветствующую хозяйственную дея­ тельность. Важной составляющей указанной оценки должна высту­ пать разработка этнологической карты территории осуществле­ ния производственного процес­ са, включающей в себя изучение и фиксацию количественных и ка­ чественных характеристик мест­ ных сообществ коренных мало­ численных народов, условий их жизнедеятельности, а также эко­ логических, этнокультурных, хо­ зяйственных и иных связей с со­ ответствующими территориями.
