имеет такого статуса и объе­ диняет государства как межго­ сударственный форум высоко­ го ранга. Кроме того, изначально Северный Форум был создан, как организация для продвиже­ ния межрегиональных проек­ тов, а устойчивое развитие се­ верных регионов было основной задачей,что остаётся как никог­ да раньше актуальным сегодня в свете происходящих в Арктике изменений, связанных с таяни­ ем ледового покрова. И, наконец, в преддверии председательства России в Арктическом совете в 2021-2023 гг. Северный Форум мог бы сыграть значительную роль в укреплении международ­ ного межрегионального сотруд­ ничества российских регионов с иностранными. Наиболее при­ оритетным может быть сотруд­ ничество с регионами припо­ лярных стран. Например, за весь период деятельности в Север­ ном Форуме членами были ре­ гионы Норвегии и Канады. Воз­ вращение этих стран является важной задачей для организа­ ции в настоящий момент. Причём надо заметить, что Устав Север­ ного Форума не ограничивает членство в организации геогра­ фическими границами Севера — регионами-членами СФ могут быть любые регионы мира, кото­ рые интересуются и собираются заниматься вопросами устойчи­ вого развитии регионов Севера и Арктики.
