Структура и динамика полярных токовых систем : материалы международного симпозиума «Полярные геомагнитные явления», 25-31 мая, Суздаль, СССР / Акад. наук СССР, Кол. фил. им. С. М. Кирова, Поляр. геофиз. ин-т. – Апатиты : [б. и.], 1988. – 150 с.

and Fukushima,1902); the calculated эрасе current showed a peculiar semi diurnal variation in the sunward or antisunward direction. The practical method for the elimination of the spurious effect is described in detail in a later paper (Suzuki and Fukushima,1984); the greatest contribution to the spurious ? effect comes from the gg.-term of the geomagnetic field expanded with the spherical harmonics. Fig. 7 is a reasonable model for the possible net current around the earth and below the MAGSAT orbit. Any closed current in the ionosphere (auch as an intense electro jet in high latitudes and its return current in the surrounding area, extending down to middle and low latitudes) does not contribute at all to the net current through the MAGSAT orbit plane. The calculated total amount of the net current is given in Fig.8 for four selected days, along wi t h the simultaneous AE-index values. It is evident in all o f these examples that the Magnetospheze Fig. 7. Model of a possible net electric current through the plane enclosed by the MAGSAT orbit. Fig. 8.
