ABSTRACTS Zhavkov V. A., Sushchenko M. S., Shchur L. I., Borovkov L. P., Lazutin L. L. On-board and ground-based equipment system for balloon researches at the PGI. Presented are brief description and basic technical characteristics of instruments at the balloon observatory which includes: X-ray spectrometer, atmospheric osone meter, electric field detector, wide-angle auroral photometer for 557.7 nm. emission, temperature and pressure sensors, charged particles detector, orientation magnetometer, pulse code modulation telemetry system, radiotransmitter, timer. Besides the above, the brief description o f the ground- based receiving and recording system is presented in the paper. Korotkov V. G., Kozelov В. V., Leontyev S. V. Auroral mechanically scanning photometer. This article presents the description o f the optical scheme, technical characteristics and main work principals of given device. At the same time it gives the format and data file reading program. The result of data processing is shown as well. Zhavkov V. A., Korotkov V. G. Balloon-born wide-angle photometer. Optical and electronic schemes of the emission photometer are presented. The photometer field o f view is equal to 52 degrees. The photometer is designed to work on board a balloon along with X-rays spectrometer. Basic principles of scheme creation which allowed to develop a device with the threshold of sensitivity o f 20 Rayleighs and the dynamic band of more than three orders are described in brief. Galakhov A. A. VLF recoder for balloon measurements VLF recorder for balloon measurements is described. It’s technical characteristics are: area of the antenna is 16 m2, spectral sensitivity is 1,25*10-15W/ m^ Hz; passband of the receiver is 0.3-0.5 kHz; frequency channels are 750 Hz, 1300 Hz, 2500 Hz, 4000 Hz. Galakhov A. A. Acoustic thermometer - anemometer. Working prototype of an acoustic thermometer-anemometer that permits temperature and air velocity measurements is described. The ultrasonic piezoelectric microphone МУП-1 has been used as an emitter, and the condenser microphone MK-201 has been used as a receiver of acoustic waves. Evstafiev О. V., Sazanov V. A., Chemyakov S. M. Digital ionospheric complex “BAZIS” modernization. In the article it is considered the modernization o f the digital ionospheric complex ‘“Bazis”, which is situated in the Geophysical Observatory Loparskaya. As a result, now it is possible to use the complex in the vertical sounding mode of operation and to record data on a personal computer. It gives an opportunity to treat the data with modern soft and hardware. 162
