ANNOTATION This monograth is devoted to formulation of mathe matical models of the geomagnetic field on the base of equations of magnetostatics, numerical methods of inve stigating thi3 model and different calculations concer ning both quiet and disturbed 3tates. Different etates of the magnetosphere are defined by magnetosphere currents and boundary conditions on the magnetopause. Proposed n:odel and scheme of calculation permit to evaluate contributions of separate magnetosphere and ionosphere currents in the Sarth magnetic field in different parts of the magnetosphere. In particular it is possible to calculate the magnetic field from the current system distributed in space with regard to shielding high-conducting surfaces. There are numerous examples of calculations, the truth of obtained result and unsolved problems are discussed in the moncgrath.
