west and is different from balloon to balloon. The activity ceased away by 2010 UT. A moderate activity with the value of the magnetic field disturbances of 150 f was observed between 2310 and 0050 UT (Pig.9). It was characterized by changing of negative H disturbances into positive. The behaviour of the electric field is of certain interest. It was measured by the balloons 16 GE and 17 KKP. The field horizontal component value was ~-20 mV/m and hardly changed, but the direction of the field vector changed considerably. As was examined earlier the electric field with the southward component corresponds to the negative disturbances in the field H component while the northward component corresponds to positive disturbances. Two bays in X-ray emission were registered by the balloon 17 МЕР during the morning hours on March 6 (Pig.11). The bays of an hour duration are distinctly structured. Wide-range pulsations from 10 sec.period to microbursts of less than e second duration were recorded. 6 min.duration burets with 10 to 20 min.period were distinguished. The electric field variations were poorly associated with the observed precipitation. Since 0004 UT the electric field was measured by the balloons 17 МЕР and 21 МЕР. Longitudin­ al distance between the balloons was 800 km. The electric field variations coincided until 0425 UT. At 0440 UT a significant growth of the field value up to 100 mV/m was observed on the balloon 21 HEP, located westward. The growth of the field value is small on the other balloon, located eastward. The electric field variations remained similar to the aoove mentioned during the interval of suaulteneous measurements on the balloons 1? МЕР and 21 МЕР. Events of March 6-7. 1979. Luring the night the measure­ ments made on the balloons 23 МЕР and 25 МЕР were signific­ ant. Prom 1930 to 2230 UT during the substorm interesting intensification of 2-ray fluxes and the electric field disturbances were registered by the instruments on­ board the Dalloon 23 МЕР.
