Prom 2315 ОТ the precipitation of energetic electrons typical for early dawn local time began (Pig.4)- Since this time patched, aurora structures prevail. 30 min.long bays appear in riometric absorption. The precipitating regions acre extensive. Increase of riometric absorption is register­ ed simulteneously at northern and southern stations. The westward electrojet also expands but it is less intensive ( сГH is -200*300^* ). X-ray emission was registered by two balloons: 2 AEP and 4 GP. Separate bays of more than an hour duration are registered. The bays are superimposed by 10-20 min.long precipitating bursts. The bursts are associ­ ated with the patched regions shifting from the midnight sector. The bursts at 0000-0015 UT and at 0050-0110 UT are clearly associated with drifting diffuse aurora bands. Thus the shift of the diffuse bands oriented north-south has the opposite direction in the morning sector as compared with that in the night sector. When the balloon was located in the morning sector some effects in particle precipitation and in the behaviour of some geophysical parameters associated with the onset of the substorm were registered. At 014в UT the appearance of a bay in the magnetic field H-component was registered at Kiruna and Kybachy (Pig.e). The effect of the electrojet intensification is less prominent at the southern stations. 15 min.long intensification with the center of activity in the west is of certain interest. Three balloons were locat­ ed within the westward electrojet and the data are more complete (including the electric field). The subsrfcorm is extremely interesting due to the electric field behaviour: effects associated with the field orientation, slow field variations and Pi2 pulsations, fiapia change in the location of the southern boundary of the active region occurred at 020a UT, which is also of a certain interest. H disturbances rapidly disappear at southern stations while thpy grow at northern (Rybachy, U.Karmakuly, Belyi-island). The value of the electric field horizontal component diminishes simulten­ eously. The beginning of Pi2 pulsation train is registered at Lovozero. During the interval 0230-0330 UT a .alight 31
