during the bay and has the maximum at E , cz 50 ke¥. The oph softest spectrum is observed 10 min. after the 2-ray flux maximum. With the appearance of the electron precipitating region the electrojet expands southward to more low latit­ udes. After 2010 UT the electrojet diminishes in its north­ ward part (Hybachy and Loparskaya) and is located at Lovo- zero, Umba-Boyarskaya region to 2025 ОТ. After 2025 the electrojet moves southward and at 2040 UT its center is located on latitude of Boyarskaya. During the interval 2040- 2050 UT another burst of the electron precipitation is observed on the electrojet latitude. Eiometric absorption rises to 2 dB at Oulu. But this intensification of the pre-1 cipitation is not associated with the development of a sub- storm (Pig.6). The balloon was located northward from the precipitating region and no intensification of 1-ray emiss­ ion flux was registered. The precipitation of energetic electrons observed at the interval 1 957-2050 UT has typical features of the growth phase of a substorm /2/. The substona of a comparatively small power was observed since 2101 (Pig.3,6)- Pi2 pulsation train was registered at Borok and Lovozero. Aurora arc intensification is register­ ed The precipitation of energetic electrons intensified prior to the appearance of Pi2 train; the growth of ricunetr- ic absorption value began at 2054 UT at Oulu. The most power­ ful auroral intensification and poleward expansion began at 2101 UT. At the interval 2101-2122 a seria of bursts of X- ray was registered onboard the balloon. The energet­ ic spectrum softens at the maximum of each burst. According to the magnetic data the activity expands north-northeast­ ward until 2120 UT. At the interval 211U-2114 UT a north­ eastward development of £2—band is observed. Toward 2130 UT the disturbance intensification diminished in the northern part of the precipitating zone. Weak activity was still observed at the Bouthern stations (Boyarskaya,Voldozero). A small temporal intensification of the activity was re­ gistered by the photometers at Boyarskaya and Padun at 2134 UT. A powerful Pi2 pulsation train was registered at Borok.
