Физика околоземного космического пространства. Гл. 3, 4 / Рос. акад. наук, Кол. науч. центр, Поляр. геофиз. ин-т. – Апатиты : [б. и.], 2000. – 708 с.

Published by decision of the Presidium of the Kola Science Centre Russian Academy of Sciences UDK 550.38; 551.510 Physics of the near-earth space - Apatity: Kola Science Centre RAS, 2000. - 706p. The book combines the results of many year studies of disturbances within the magnetosphere-ionosphere system. The leading researchers of the Polar Geophysical Institute have made their contribution in the compilation of the book. It covers in detail important issues, concerning magnetosphere-ionosphere relations and illustrates new approaches in studies of the ionosphere processes, using methods of radio tomography and fractal analysis, presents results of a study of the troposphere ozone characteristics in the Arctic. The book can be of interest also from another point of view. Some quite valuable historical sections are included in many of its chapters, besides it illustrates not only the present-day conceptions on magnetosphere-ionosphere relations but also the process of their formation. The book is dedicated to the 40-year research activity of the Polar Geophysical Institute and is intended for various groups of researchers, post graduate students and students of physics, engaged in the research of or interested in solar-terrestrial relations.
