Abstract Tile present paper contains the list of balloon and ground data obtained during SAMBO-82 international balloon campaign carried out by Soviet, Austrian, Swedish and Japanese scientists in November-December, 1982. The geophysical situation and the pecularities of magnetic disturbances were promptly analized in the course of balloon flightc The balloons were launched from ESRANGE, near Kiruna (Sweden) and drifted to east with the velocity of 50-150 km/h up to the Urals. The scientific information was transmitted by telemetric devices to the recieving stations located at various places along the trajectory of flights* The data of X-ray measurementss as well as electric field and aurora intensity data are given • Various ground data from Scandinavian, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk networks of stations are presented by the data on magnetic field variations, spectral and spatial auroral features and riometric absorption. The analysis of geomagnetic situations during the flights demonstrates a va riety of complex severe disturbances. Their investigation will promote a more profound understanding of magnetоspheric disturban ces and their manifestations in particles and electric fields in the high latitudes.
