4 INTRODUCTION The Auroral Subcentar of World Data Centre B2 continues its publication of auroral observational data from Soviet stations in Arctic and Antarctic, Auroral data are presented by aacaplots as adopted at Moscow IAGA Assembly in September 1958 /1/. This issue contains the auroral data of 1984. The list of stations and their coordinates are enumerated in Table 1. Aacaplots for 1972-1983 were published earlier /5/, Ascaplota are the information about aurora occurence in three latitudinal intervals (north, zenith, south) each corresponding to three degrees of latitude. Auroral activity in the zenith region is given in a three-ball scale. The data are presented for every half-an-hour interval of observations- The ascaplots also contain the Information about cloudiness and moon lighting. The methods of aacaploting are shown» Initial data from all the stations which data are used in the present iasuo are kept in the Auroral Subcentre. The indices of auroral activity are given for each day (Table 2), The ascaplots havts bean .prepared by the staff of the Auroral Subcentres N.P.Maltseva , L.N,Korobeynikova and O.V.Uschenko headed by L, I!',.Smirnova* The indices of auroral activity have been calculated by L.H.Smirnova.
