Аскаплоты советских станций за 1978 год : (оперативно-информационный материал) / Акад. наук СССР, Кол. фил. им. С. М. Кирова, Поляр. геофиз. ин-т. – Апатиты : Кольский филиал АН СССР, 1981. – 87 с.

INTRODUCTION. The Auroral Subcenter of World Data Center B2 continues by thia issue its publication of aurorae observations data at the Soviet stations in Arctic and An tarctic. Auroral data are presented by ascaplots as it was adopted at Moscow IAGA Assembly in September 1958 /1/. This issue is devoted to the auroral data of 1978. The lift of stations and their coordinates are enumerated in Table 1. Publication of the ascaplots of 1972-1974 and of 1977 preceded thia publication /5-8/. Ascaplots are the information about aurorae occurence in three latitudinal inter vals (north, zenith, south), each corresponding to three latitudinal degrees. Aurorae activity of the zenith region is given in three-ball scale. The data for each half- an-hour observational interval are presented, Ascaplots also contain the informa tion about cloudiness and moon lighting presence. The methods of ascaplotting are shown. Preliminary data from all stations, which data are used in the present issue, are kept in Auroral Subcenter. Auroral activity indices are given for each day (Table 2). Ascaplots are prepared by Auroral Subcenter workers s L.N.Korobeynikova,N.P.Mal tseva and O.V. Yuschenko under the head of L.N.Molchanova, Auroral activity indices are calculated by L.N.Molchanova.
