Three sites (Kuetsjarvi) on the Russian side and 4 sites (Pasvik area) on the Norwegian side have been chosen for sampling o f sediments (Figure 1; Table 1). Moreover, sediment samples were also collected in two lakes located at non-industrial areas o f Norway (Stuorajavri) and Finland (Inarijarvi). Figure 1.
