Packing up for road Char- nolusky interprets through the traditional formula of a national lyrical song: "My sweetheart did go a-packing his knapsack...". Despite irony the use of formula testifies that students-ethnographers "got used" to the culture they studied. The "Touching farewell" speaks about the same (fig. 33). We are not aware what feelings had Charnolusky and V.Ya.V., when saying goodbye to natives but for many field- researchers-ethnographers these moments of parting with informants get in their memory for the rest of life.
