It objectively reflects the current state o f the local avi­ fauna and may serve as a starting point for further faunistic research and detailed studies o f specific structure o f avian population, behaviour and ecology of the birds of Pasvik. Breeds on small lakes and large bogs. RF. 2. Black-throated Diver Gavia arctica (Linnaeus, 1758). Common migrating and breeding species on large water bodies. RR. 3. G reat Northern Diver Gavia immer (Brunnich, 1764). Very rare migrating specis. Recorded in 1987 and 1993 (Gunther, Thingstad, 2002). Order PODICIPEDIFORMES Grebes Podicipedidae 4. Red-necked Grebe Podicepsgrisegena (Boddaert, 1783). Uncommon migrant, recorded in 1976 and 1977 (Wikan et al. 1994). RM. 5. Horned Grebe Podiceps auritus (Linnaeus, 1758).
