In coniferous plants the event is recorded when all yellow needles have been shed from lower parts of shoots. Winter annual plants in the end of the growing season change leaf color to autumn-winter hues. Siberian juniper and dwarf Siberian pine needles get covered in waxy bloom, leaves of dwarf Labrador tea, small cranberry, crowberry ‘fold’ and turn reddish brown. Perennial herbs that retain all or part of the leaves through the winter acquire anthocyanin tint. Full leaf coloration in rowan - one of the brightestphases in the end of the growing season
