D u rin g 15 la s t y e a r s 57 n ew s p e c i e s h a v e b e e n ta k in g into in t r o d u c t iv e w o r k . S ib e r ia n d e n d r o flo r a is r e c lam a te d b rim ­ ful. It is r e p r e s e n t e d w ith 11 s p e c i e s . P a r t o f t h e s e s p e c i e s is th e m ost a d a p te d to th e P a r N o r th 's c o d i - t io n s . H a v in g en o rm o u s a r e a with the n o r th e rn b o r d e r n e a r the P o l a r c i r c le and w id e am p litude th e y a r e the m os t a d a p t e d s p e c i e s . 22 s p e c i e s w e r e in tr o d u c e d from th e North A m e r ic a n d e n d r o flo r a . In th e main th e s e s p e c i e s g r o w in mo­ d e r a t e z o n e . M o s t o f them a r e t e s t e d the fir s t time. T h e y a r e 15 y e a r s old, but th e y a r e c h a r a c t e r iz e d b y h igh w in te r h a r d in e s s a n d g r e a t in ten s ity o f g row th . H a v in g w e s t E u ro p ia n o r ig in c o n s id e r a b le pa rt o f c o n if e r s d iffe r s s lo w g row th . T h e y a r e s u b je c t e d to f r e e z in g , th ou gh th e y h ib en a te w ithou t a n y c o v e r . T y ­ p ic a lly h igh -m ou n ta in s p e c i e s a r e the m ost s t e a d y .
