In the second volume of the monograph, Khibiny massif lakes sediments forming modern conditions, medium-term freshwater ecosystem transformation processes reconstruction and biota responses under intensive polytypic anthropogenic impact are examined. The investigations results of the modem sediments chemical composition and regularities of the spatial distribution elements in it are given. The peculiarities of the series of pollutants, including rare-, rare-earth and alkaline earth elements in the ore - ore waters - natural waters - sediments system are shown. The chronology of the lake sediments water quality transformations for the period of the industrial development of the region has been reconstructed on the basis of the stratigraphicic chemical and diatom analyses.
