Kola Science Centre RAS, 2009. —226 p. The catalogue represents the first collection of systematized ecological characteristics of the Euro-Arctic Lakes. Part 1 contains the basic hydrographic, morphometric, hydrochemical and hydrobiological description of 151 lakes of the Barents Sea watershed and gives information about the Lake Fund of the north-west area of the Murmansk region and the Russian, Norway and Finnish border area. Each lake description contains the following information: an effluent or flow river name, coordinates, the height above sea level, the aria of each lake and its watershed , the maximum lengths and width, the investigation period, the chemical characteristics of waters and sediments, the estimation and state of the main biological communities (phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthos, ichthyofauna). The Catalogue is meant for specialists in water ecosystem investigations, local inhabitants, those, who accomplish practical activity in the north-west part of the Murmansk region, students and environmental services.
