LAKE KIRIKOVANJARVI Lake Kirikovanjarvi (watershed of the River Pechenga) is located 4 km to the south of the settlement of Pechenga. It is a small (area of the lake 0.36 km2), shallow-water (maximum depth 8 m) elongated oval lake of glacial origin. The maximum length is 01.2 km, and maximum width 0.4 km. The point ofmaximum depth (8 m) is located in the central part of the lake. In the eastern and western parts of the lake the maximum depths are small, up to only 4 m. According to the landscape type, the watershed area represents a combina tion of flat, low-lying areas of glaciola- custrine flatlands, and tectonic massifs with a height of upto 180.8 m. The lake shores are high and covered by birch and pine forests. The water of the lake is col ourless. Boulder beds occur in almost all parts of the littoral zone. The gaps be tween the boulders are filled with sand and pebbles.
