Художественная летопись Великого Устюга до­ статочно многотомна, а возник он около середины XII века — ровесник Вологды и Москвы. Зримо видел и пытался передать, как позолочен­ ные купола растворялись под действием холодных, не­ бесных рефлексов сверху и тёплых, земных снизу. По­ токи быстрой реки Сухоны вносили живую динамику, а панорама фиолетово-голубой дали леса подчёркивала уравновешенность всего уникального ландшафта. Самый главный символ Белого моря и все­ го северо-запада России — Соловецкий монастырь XV века, где удалось пожить и поработать в середине 80-х годов. Тогда ещё многие купола не были восстанов­ лены, но историко-художественная аура наполняла всё пространство с загадочными неолитическими сооруже­ ниями 2-1 тысячелетий до нашей эры, и сам монастырь, отделённый от материка десятками километров «мор­ ской пучины», и оригинальные технические постройки, и завораживающая красота вокруг. The art chronicle of Veliky Ustyug consists of anumber of volumes, the foundation of the city dates back to the mid­ dle of the 12th century, it's as old as Vologda and Moscow. The artist saw and tried to convey the way the golden domes disappeared under the effect of cold sky reflexes from above and warm earthern from below. The stream of the fast flow­ ing Suhona river introduced movement, and the panorama of the blue and violet forest in the distance emphasized the balance of the unique landscape. The main symbol of the White Sea and north-west of Russia is founded in the 15th century Solovetsky Monastery, where the artist had a chance to live and work in the middle of the 1980s. At that time most of the domes weren't restored yet, but the historic and artistic aura filled all the place with mysterious Neolithic constructions as old as 2,000 or 1,000 BC, and the monastery, separated from the mainland by the tens of kilometers of the deep sea, and original technical facilities, and charming beauty all around.
