SUMMARY Materials to the Petrology of the Western part of the White Sea Coast Region (Granitisation of rocks of White-Sea region) The present work contains a part of the results of the writer’s investiga­ tions in the region of the western coast of the White Sea, that were done during the period from 1930 to 1936 according to the tasks of the Leningrad Geo­ logical Trust. After a review of the regional literature the writer gives a brief outline of the stratigraphy and characterizes the state of our knowledge on the structure of this region. Then follows a petrographical and petrological description ot .he formations comparing the western coast of the White Sea and in conclusion the geological sequence is characterized and the main conclusions on the study of the proces­ ses of granitisation are given. Chapter „Complex of Gneisses'' contains a petrographical description of disthene and garnetiferous gneisses, biotite gneisses, amphibole gneisses and 84
