- 479 с. : ил.
Океанологические и биологические исследования арктических и южных морей России composition, state of the population and distribution of fish fauna representatives on the Southern Seas basins are discussed in the article. The data of the monitoring investiga tions of the mass fish species in the delta of the Don River (girlo Svinoe) and analysis of the poachers catches from the eastern part of the Taganrog Bay are presented. KSC RAS, 2006. - P. 315-332. The major stages in the development and scientific topics of the laboratory of em bryology since the moment of its organization in 1959 are reflected in the article. The results of comparative morphological investigations of protective-regeneration processes in the invertebrates (coelenterates, comb-bearers, nemeterines, muscles) and fishes (sal mon, humpback salmon) are generalized. The data on the oogenesis of the widely distri buted in the Barents Sea coastal areas invertebrates (sponges, bivalves, crustaceans) and fishes (salmon, humpback salmon, plaice) are presented. Peculiarities of embryo develop ment in capelin in conditions of different temperature regimes and post-embryonic deve lopment of plaice - a possible object for mariculture are discussed. The review of the major directions: faunistic, experimental (including physiological, cytological, biochemical) and applied studies is presented. The contribu tion of the MMBI scientists in the solving of fundamental biological problems and the tasks of practical exploitation of the animals is shown. References - 54. UDC 598.2 Krasnov Yu. V. On the basis of the available literature sources the stages of the sea birds investiga tions in the Barents, the White and the Kara Seas investigations for the observable period of time are revealed. In 1920-1970 sea avifauna investigation was limited by the prob lems of ecology, nesting biology of birds. Since the middle of the 1980s much more at tention was paid to the sea birds role in the ecosystems of the seas. On the basis of the results obtained sea birds were recognized as genuine marine organisms. It is shown that 477
