W ithin the period 1990-2002, m ore than 2 400 works, including 100 m onographs, and 76 them atic collections, and more than 1000 papers in leading Russian periodicals. Joint w orks w ith specialists from G reat Britain, Ger­ many, Canada, Norway, Poland, the USA, Finland, and other countries are published (Genetics, Histochem ical Journal, International Journal for Parasitology, Berichte zur Polarforschung, Sarsia, Geology, Crustaceana, Polar Geography, Polar Research, etc). During the last years, 5 -6 books (m onographs and collected articles) are published each year, as well as m a­ terials and theses o f conferences and meetings. Based on the printed m atter o f M M B l’s research officers, bibliogra­ phies “M arine biological investigations” are published in accordance w ith the m ajor scientific directions. B y now, five such bibliographies have been published: 1937-1973, 1974-1980, 1981-1989, 1990-1995, and 1996-2000. ММБИ ведет активную издательскую деятельность. За период 1990-2003 гг. сотрудниками ММБИ издано более 2400 научных работ, включая 100 моно­ графии, 76 тематических сборников, более 1000 статей в центральных рос­ сийских и зарубежных изданиях. Публикуются совместные работы со специалистами Великобритании, Гер­ мании, Канады, Норвегии, Польши, США, Финляндии и др. стран (Genetics, Histochemical Journal, International Journal of Parasitology, Sarsia, Geology, Crustaceana, Polar Geography, Polar Research, Berichte zur Polarforschung). В последнее время ежегодно издается 5-6 книг (монографии и сборники), а также материалы и тезисы конференций и совещаний. На основе печатной продукции сотрудников в соответствии с основными научными направления­ ми публикуются библиографические указатели «Морские биологические ис­ следования». К настоящему времени издано 5 таких указателей: /1937-1973 гг./, /1974-1980 гг./, /1981-1989 гг./, /1990-1995/, /1996-2000 гг./. During the w hole history o f the Institute a scientific library occupies a special place in its structure and activ­ ity. Its fund started to be formed in the period o f the M ur­ m ansk Biological Station in the tow n o f A lexandrovsk, first due to the books given as presents by the specialists com ing to the station, then thanks to some purchases o f books and m agazines in G erm any and in France. Then the w hole reserves o f the library was replen­ ished w ith the books from the library o f the form er Polar Comm ission, a part o f the double copies o f books from the Zoological Institute AS USSR, and w ith the books from the professor G.A. Kluge personal library. Started from the 50s o f the last century, the stock o f the books o f the Institute library is com piled m ainly from the Library o f the A cadem y o f Sciences. A t the m om ent the Library is the pride o f the Institute, it num bers approxim ately 65 thousand issues including 500 rare ones. M any books are o f great bibliographic value, among them reference bibliographic issues on zoology, marine biology. There are also unique issues w ith autographs o f Nansen, N ordensheld, and other outstanding sci­ entists available. A significant books exchange with the largest scientific Russian and foreign libraries from G reat Britain, Germany, Norway, Poland, USA, Finland, Japan, other countries is carried out constantly. На протяжении всей истории Института особое место в его структуре и деятельности занимала и занимает научная библиотека. Фонд ее начал форми­ роваться во времена Мурманской биологической станции в г. Александровске сначала за счет книг, подаренных приезжающими на станцию специалистами, а также нескольких закупок книг и журналов в Германии и Франции. Затем библиотечный фонд пополнился из библиотеки бывшей Полярной комиссии, части дубликатного фонда Зоологического института АН СССР и книг из личной библиотеки профессора Г.А. Клюге. Начиная с 50-х годов прошлого столетия фонд библиотеки Института ком­ плектуется по линии библиотеки Академии наук. В настоящее время научная библиотека - гордость Института, насчитыва­ ет около 65 тысяч печатных изданий, в том числе 500 раритетных. Многие книги представляют большую библиографическую ценность, в том числе справочные библиографические издания по зоологии, гидробиоло­ гии. Имеются уникальные издания с автографами Нансена, Норденшельда и других известных деятелей науки. Ведется постоянный широкий книгообмен с крупнейшими научными российскими и зарубежными библиотеками Вели­ кобритании, Германии, Норвегии, Польши, США, Финляндии, Японии и др. стран.
