Tarasov Marine geological investigations have been carried out since 1963. In 1967 a laboratory o f geology and geochem istry o f the sea was established on the basis o f lithology group and headed by V.I. Gurevich. In the 1970s most o f geologic research was carried out in the White, Barents and Pechora seas. U nder the conditions o f the open sea in D al’niye Zelentsy some w ork was conducted on the m obilization o f sedim entary substance in the w ater catchm ent area and transport o f terrigenous and bioclastic substances under the m arine and coastal conditions. In 1981 the scientific sub-unit was reorganized into the laboratory o f m arine paleoecology. In 1980-90s research was carried out in the Barents, Norw egian, Greenland, N orth and Kara seas. The Laboratory researches the following aspects o f geology and geo-dynamics: - Glacial and periglacial processes and phenomena, including dynam ics ofrecosystem s under the marine periglacial conditions o f Arctic seas (D irector o f Re­ search, Academ ician, M atishov G.G.); - Pleistocene-H olocene sedim entogenesis and neotectonical regim es in the form ation o f bio-pro- ductive zones on shelf o f Arctic seas (D irector o f R e­ search, D octor o f G eology and M ineralogy, Professor Tarasov G.A.); - Subsurface geology, tectonic and geodynam ic evolution o f the Eurasian Arctic continental edge and its aqueous basins (D irector o f Research, D octor o f G eology and M ineralogy, Professor Shipi- lov E.V.). The approach to the decision o f the aforem entioned problem s is based on the developm ent o f new paleographic, sedim entologic, tectonic, and subsurface- contour schemes and models substantiated w ith m odem facts from oceanology, geology, geophysics, and offshore drilling. O n the results o f investigations, there have been prepared and published: - a geological m ap o f the Barents and Kara Sea; - a series o f tectonic maps (in cooperation with the Institute o f Lithosphere o f M ar­ ginal and Inner Seas) o f the Barents, Kara, Laptev, B ering Seas and the Sea o f O k­ hotsk, the key seas o f Russia as regards to oil and gas reserves on shelf; - several monographs. The governm ental prize in science and engineering o f the Governm ent o f the Russian Federation w as aw arded to academician G. M atishov and prof. G. Tarasov for the study “Developm ent, scientific substantiation and application o f progressive technologies for the creation o f environmental and geographical basis for resources exploitation o f the w estern arctic shelf o f Russia” in 2005 and to prof. E. Shipilov for the study “Tectonic m aps o f marginal seas o f Russia” in 2003. By w ay o f applying new investigation methods, new data have been obtained on the last glaciation scale (15 000-20 000 years) and on the Pleistocene history o f evolution for the following geographic areas: - Spitsbergen A rchipelago - Franz Josef Land A rchipelago - N ovaya Zem lya A rchipelago - Kanin Peninsula - the N orth o f K ola Peninsula The Laboratory carries out joint investigations w ith scientists from the USA, Germany, Poland, Norway, and other countries and sees good outlook in such cooperation. • З а в е д ую щ и й л а б о р а то р и е й I I I зас л у ж е н н ы й д е я те л ь науки РФ п р оф е с со р Г енн ад ии А н ти п о в и ч Т арасов Морские геологические исследования ведутся в ММБИ с 1963 года. В 1967 г. на базе группы литологии была организована лаборатория геологии и геохимии моря под руководством В.И. Гуревича. В 1970-е годы основные геологические работы проводились в Белом, Баренцевом и Печорском мо­ рях. В условиях открытого моря в районе Дальних Зеленцов был выполнен ряд экспериментальных работ по мобилизации осадочного вещества в водо­ сборном бассейне и переносу терригенного и биокластического материала в прибрежно-морских условиях. В 1981 году научное подразделение было преобразовано в лабораторию морской палеоэкологии. В 80-90 е гг. исследо­ вания велись в Баренцевом, Норвежском, Гренландском, Северном и Карском морях. Основное научное направление лаборатории в настоящее время - изуче­ ние ледниковых и перигляциальных процессов и явлений, а также динами­ ки экосистем в условиях морского перигляциала в арктических морях (академик Г.Г. Матишов); исследо­ вание плейстоцен-голоценового се- диментогенеза и неотектонических режимов формирования биопродук- ционных зон на шельфе арктических морей (рук. д.г.-м.н., проф. Г.А. Та­ расов); исследования геологическо­ го строения, тектонической и геоди- намической эволюции Арктической континентальной окраины Евразии и ее осадочных бассейнов (рук. д.г.- м.н., проф. Э.В. Шипилов). Подход к решению указанных проблем бази­ руется на создании новых палеогео­ графических, седиментологических, структурно-геологических и тектони­ ческих схем и моделей, обоснованных современными фактами океанологии, морского бурения, геологии и геофи­ зики. По результатам исследований под­ готовлены и изданы геоэкологическая карта Баренцева и Карского морей, серия тектонических карт (совместно с Институтом литосферы окраинных и внутренних морей РАН) ключевых в нефтегазоносном отношении шель­ фовых морей России: Баренцева, Карского, Лаптевых, Охотского и Бе­ рингова (юго-запад), крупные моно­ графии. За научный труд “Разработка, научное обоснование и внедрение прогрессивных технологий для соз­ дания эколого-геологических основ использования Западно-Арктического Отбор донных отложений со льда на Западном Шпицбергене Подготовка к спуску прямоточной грунтовой трубки с борта НИС "Дальние Зеленцы” а 75 years of MBS - MMBI
