Издательская деятельность и научная библиотека/ Publishing activity and scientific library MMBI carries out active publishing activities. Within the period 1990-2002, more than 2 400 works, including 72 monographs, and 46 thematic collections, and more than 740 papers in leading Russian periodicals. Joint works with specialists from Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Norway, Poland, the USA, Finland, and other countries are published (Genetics, Histochemical Journal, International Journal for Parasitology, Berichte zur Polarforschung, Sarsia, Geology, Crustaceana, Polar Geography, Polar Research, etc). During the last years, 5-6 books (monographs and collected articles) are published each year, as well as materials and theses of conferences and meetings. Based on the printed matter of MMBI's research officers, bibliographies "Marine biological investigations" are published in accordance with the major scientific directions. By now, 7 such bibliographies have been published: 1937-1973, 1974-1980, 1981-1989, 1990-1995,1996-2000,2001-2005,2006-2010. MMBI Editorial and publishing Department has color mini-publishing complex (Pentium III 600 MHz/RAM 256 MB/HO -20GB). During the whole history of the Institute a scientific library occupies a special place in its structure and activity. Its fund started to be formed in the period of the Murmansk Biological Station in the town of Alexandrovsk, first due to the books given as presents by the specialists coming to the station, then thanks to some purchases of books and magazines in Germany and in France. Then the whole reserves of the library was replenished with the books from the library of the former Polar Commission, a part of the double copies of books from the Zoological Institute AS USSR, and with the books from the professor G. A. Kluge personal library. Started from the 50s of the last century, the stock of the books of the Institute library is compiled mainly from the Library of the Academy of Sciences. At the moment the Library is the pride of the Institute, it numbers approximately 74 thousand issues including 500 rare ones. Many books are of great bibliographic value, among them reference bibliographic issues on zoology, marine biology. There are also unique issues with autographs of Nansen, Nordensheld, and other outstanding scientists available. A significant books exchange with the largest scientific Russian and foreign libraries from Great Britain, Germany, Norway, Poland, USA, Finland, Japan, other countries is carried out constantly. ММБИ ведет активную издательскую деятельность. За период 1990-2003 гг. сотрудниками ММБИ издано более 2400 научных работ, включая 72 монографии, 46 тематических сборни ков, более 740 статей в центральных российских и зарубежных изданиях. Публикую тся совместные работы со специалистами Великобритании, Германии, Канады, Норвегии, Польши, США, Финляндии и др. стран. В последнее время ежегодно издается 5-6 книг (монографии и сборники), а также материалы и тезисы конференций и совещаний. На основе печатной продукции сотрудников в соответствии с основными научными направлениями публикуются библиогра­ фические указатели "Морские биологические исследования". К настоящему времени издано 7 таких указателей: /1937-1973 гг./, /1974-1980 гг./, /1981-1989 гг./, /1990-1995/, /1996-2000 гг./, /2001-2005 гг./, /2006-2010 гг./. Редакционно-издательский отдел Института располагает цветным мини-издательским комплексом (Pentium III 600 MHz/RAM 256 MB/НО-20GB). На протяжении всей истории Института особое место в его структуре и деятельности занимала и занимает научная библиотека. Фонд ее начал формироваться во времена Мурманской биологической станции в г. Александровске сначала за счет книг, подаренных приезжающими на станцию специалистами, за счет нескольких закупок книги журналов в Германии и Франции. Затем библиотечный фонд пополнился из библиотеки бывшей Полярной комиссии, части дубликатного фонда Зоологического института АН СССР и книг из личной библиотеки профессора Г.А. Клюге. Начиная с 50-х годов прошлого столетия, фонд библиотеки Института комплектуется по линии Библиотеки Академии наук. В настоящее время научная библиотека - гордость Института, насчитывает около 74 тысяч печатных изданий, в том числе 500 ра­ ритетных. Многие книги представляют большую библиографическую ценность, в том числе справочные библиографические издания по зоологии, гидробиологии. Имеются уникальные издания с автографами Нансена, Норденшельда и других известных деятелей науки. Ведется постоянный большой книгообмен с крупнейшими научными российскими и зарубежными библиотеками Великобритании, Германии, Норвегии, Польши, США, Финляндии, Японии и др. стран.
