is an alteration of shists of different composition (see fig. 7). In the quartz-musco- vite schists the dimensions of crystals of garnet-almandine reach 14 cm. The resources of the main region are estimated a t 330.000 tons. The Tah lin tuaiv deposit is located a t a distance of 8 km to the west of Mak- zabak near Lake Seiyavr. In resources this deposit is a little less than the first two. Here we have a xenolith of the Keivian series surrounded be the alkaline granites. The shists are enriched in garnet. Resources are estimated a t 150.000 tons. The quality of the garnet of these deposits is no worse, th a t the garnet-almandine of the Shuyeretsk deposits of Karelia, which have already been tested and accepted as useful for abrasive industry. The access to the region is difficult and the region is far for this reason the deposits have not been surveyed or worked.
