З н а ч и т е л ь н о в о з р а с т а е т р о л ь б е н т о с ны х р а б о т по изучению загрязнения м о р с к о й с р е ды и б и о т ы , я в л яющ и х с я н е о т ъ ем л е м о й ч а с т ью процедуры оценки в о з д е й с т в и я на окружающую среду (ОВОС) освоения н еф т е г а з о вы х м е с т о р ож д ен и й на А р к т и ч е с к ом шельфе. П о с т о я н н ы м и п а р т н е р а м и л а б о р а т о р и и в исследованиях я в л яю т с я сп еци али с ты Норвегии, США, Германии и других с т р а н . Свое будущее л а б о р а т о р и я в и д и т в расширении исследований по т р е м названным направлениям с целью обеспечения в Западно- А р к т и ч е с к о м регион е регулярных м о н и т о р и н г о вы х наблюдений за с о с т о я н и ем морской донной фауны и ее изменениями. Benthos stations conducted in the MMBI during several tens of years cover the areas of the Barents, the Kara, the White seas , bays, gulfs, inlets of the Arctic coast very densely. A voluminous data bank on benthos in the Arctic seas is formed in the laboratory. It will allow to estimate the actual state of the modern communities and to forecast their changes under the influence of the climatic and anthopogenic factors. The role of benthos works is increasing considerably when the questions of marine biota and environment contamination are discussed- these works are part and parcel of the estimation of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedure at the exploration and the exploitation of the gas-oil deposits on the Arctic shelf. The usual partners of the laboratory are the specialists of Norway, Germany, the USA and other countries. The future of the laboratory is in the expansion of the investigations in all the three directions in order to provide regular monitoring observations of the state of the marine bottom fauna and its changes in the West Arctic region. Р а б о т ы л а б о р а т о ри и направлены прежде всего на решение фунд амен тальных проблем: изучение видового разнообразия м акро водорослей; физиологические процессы р о с т а , р а з в и т и я и размножения водорослей под влиянием ф а к т о р о в внешней среды на разных с т а д и я х он т о г ен е за ; - сезонная динамика популяционных х а р а к т е р и с т и к (разм ерно -во зр а стной с о с т а в , числен н о с т ь , биомасса) массовых видов водорослей Баренцева моря при д е й с т в и и антропо генных ф а к т о р о в . Решение прикладных задач направлено на р а з р а б о т к у научных основ рационального п р омы с л а и м а р и к у л ь т у р ы в о д о р о с л е й - м а к р о ф и т о в . В последние годы особое м е с т о в р а б о т е л а б о р а т о р и и з а н им аю т исследования по экологической оценке возможного н ега ти вн о го в о з д е й с т в и я н а в о д о р о с л и о с в о е н и я н еф т е г а з о вы х м е с т о р ож д е н и й на шельфе Баренцева и Карского морей. Laboratory of algology Chief - Makarov Vladimir N. Candidate of Science (Biology) Investigations of the marine algae in the northern seas are traditional for the MMBI. They are carried out during the whole period of the Institute history. The works of the laboratory are directed to the solving the following fundamental questions first of all: investigations of the species diversity of macroalgas; - physiological processes of growth, development and reproduction of algae under the influence of the environmental factors at different stages of onthogenesis; se a so n a l d y n am ic s of th e popu lation characteristics (age-size composition, abundance, biomass) of the mass algae species under the influence of the anthropogenic factors. The solution of the applied problems of the laboratory is directed to the development of the scientific background of the rational fishery and algae macrophyte aquaculture. Recently the investigations on the ecological estimation of the possible negative influence of gas-oil deposits exploitation and exploration on the Barents and the Kara seas algae are taking the special place in the activity of the laboratory.
