The import from MicroMarc to BIBSYS went quite well, but there is much work on reducing duplicate records, missing linking of analytical records and of multi-volume publications. There is also much work afterwards correcting the names of persons and corporations in the authority file. A deeper and better understanding of the Sami languages will help us improve the indexing of relevant material even more. It is important to increase the communication and co-operation with Sami institutions in Norway and in the Sami regions in Sweden, Finland and Russia. The library systems or catalogs are not constructed to handle multi lingual documents quite well. From analogue to digital publication Many publishers, an increasing amount actually, in particular Universities, colleges, scientific and governmental institutions are now publishing only online/on the internet. When it comes to Sami relations, material containing specific fields or subjects only exist on the net/ in digital format. For instance subjects like cultural heritage, exploiting within the Sami area, ordinary science and governmental publications. Most of the documents are born digital and stay that way. The danger is that we can easily miss vital and important material in the huge digital flow on the internet. Efficient legal deposit The Legal deposit law is the basis for the whole bibliography. We are dependent of an efficient system, which should get as much material deposited as possible according to the law. There will always be a need to remind publishers who haven't done their duty. In this field it is especially important, because we often deal with small and local publishers who may not be aware of the Legal deposit law at all. 79
