The library bus of Utsjoki cooperates with the municipalities of Karasjok and Porsanger in Norway. It serves customers in Finnish, Norwegian and Sami. The mobile library of Muonio works together with the municipalities of Enontekio, Kautokeino in Norway, and Kiruna in Sweden. This Nordic library bus provides services in Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Sami. In the municipality of Inari, the library bus drives in an area in which four languages - Finnish, Inari Sami, Skolt Sami and North Sami - are spoken. The mobile library is an excellent practical example of an economically and ecologically sustainable way of providing services for the inhabitants of sparsely-populated areas. In terms of ecology, it is sounder to drive one car to 20 people than vice versa: to have 20 people drive to one (library). The different players engaged in the sphere of Sami library and cultural work form a circle that answers questions presented through the online information service Kysy Lapista ("Ask about Lapland"). In the Lapponica Information Service, questions dealing with the Sami are answered by such institutions of expertise as the Sami Museum, the Sami Special Library and Inari Library. There is also a new cooperation forum on Facebook, Ask Barents, which focuses on Russia. Finnish and Sami library work come together In Finland, Sami library work is part of the national library service. Public libraries serve inhabitants similarly but, for the most part, only in Finnish. Often, a Sami customer and a Finnish official meet each other in the library. Only some of the library employees of the Sami Area know the Sami spoken in the region. The number of Sami library employees is low. In its activities, the Sami Special Library in Rovaniemi focuses on academic bibliographing based on collections. The Special Library maintains a Sami bibliography, participates in 106
